Hi Chuck! I'm from Brazil and I used to work with Avaya for years.Recently, I started to work with a UC platform called Broadsoft, recently aquired by Cisco. So I decided to focus on Cisco products starting work on to aquire the CCNA. I'm found your channel and I'm using all of your tips to support my mission "becoming a Network collaboration Engineer". Since the Cisco is updating the CCNA, I beggining with Python on CodeCademy. I just wanted to say thank you Chuck, your content has being consumed by me in my personal routine. Congrats for this amazing job helping people to achieve their goals!

I thought Python was going to be tough, but it's no more difficult than DOS batch that I used to do back in the day. David Bombal really helped me get over the hump and grasp Python for Network Engineers.

I had a boss that introduced me to SQL and that helped me a lot.

For me I started doing stuff that I hate doing by hand.
I built a network mapper, and a program to map what is plugged in where: Point it at a switch/device with an arp table and it spits out a CSV with port number/IP/MAC address/Device type. Saved me SO MUCH time.

I’m a programmer in my civilian job and a network admin in my military job and I’m doing my CCNA right now. There are some really amazing things that you can do with network programmability. This is the whole reason I’m leaving my programming job for a civilian networking job. I dunno about the money but the experience is both terrifying and exciting.

Hey Chuck I am in my CCNP studies and I recently realized from your videos and day to day work, how important Phyton is becoming. Cisco SDN and SDA is changing the way we do networking. This course will give me a leg up and craft my Networking skills for the future. #IwanttobeaUnicorn

Programming comes naturally to me & I was adept at C/Java, but ended up becoming a Network Engineer. Now I am excited that the programming skills I honed for 10+ yrs is finding a place in the Networking industry!

I came across this after watching your more recent videos, so it’s interesting watching this now. My breakthrough for scripting was finding real world scenarios that I could automate with scripts. So for me that has been api work.

This is nice to know! I've been studying for my CCNA, but I also picked up a Udemy course on Python a few weeks back because I've been wanting to get back into programming for fun after avoiding it for so many years. Nice to think that a personal hobby might end up making me more marketable in the professional world.

#IWantToBeAUnicorn - just joined the infrastructure team (as a junior networking engineer) in my company after 2 years on desktop support :) I did an apprenticeship, very close to taking my CCNA exam (with confidence!), and did my server exams AND planning to top it up with AWS (eventually networking) which is closely tied with python!!! My team look down on me a little because I'm a 20 year old girl, but I want to prove I'm more than capable and learn the most I can AND ACE IT!

I am currently studying for my CCNA and am teaching myself Python simultaneously. Having this knowledge can set me apart to do so much in the industry! Can’t wait for what my future holds! #iwanttobeaunicorn

Yes, learning programming is hard (for me). I have been in a Computer Programming degree plan in college for about 1 1/2 years. I just switched to Cybersecurity plan yesterday cause as much as I tried, just couldn’t get programming. Hopefully security comes easier.
