Reminds me of the time I was walking down some steps and I thought I was at the bottom but there was still was one more step to go. I could have died.

Honnold was once asked "How do you overcome fear". His response was classic, and shows a completely different mindset.
"I didn't overcome fear. I expanded my comfort zone"

It's gonna be really tragic when we almost inevitably get the bad news that Alex has finally at last, broken his hands yet again so badly he has to have them amputated and can never climb again. Until he yet again finds a way to continue free soloing because he's Alex Honnold! lol

Here I was thinking that Alex Honnold wasn't scared of free soloing because he knew he wouldn't fall. Turns out he's just immortal.

his movie really portrayed him not as a daredevil, but as a measured guy who's really precisely aware of his own strength and abilities, and only attempts free solos when he _knows_ 1000% he can do the climb without falling. Turns out, when you look into him a little more... nah, he just does stupidly dangerous things just to see if he can and because his brain isn't bothered by how dangerous they are.

as someone who is autistic, the autism vibes from Honnold are intense and honestly i fucking love it. dude's special interest is climbing big walls and near death experiences.

PLEASE do more of these documentary style things. this was soooo good and i loved your interjections and jokes. also that we sort of see it through the lens of you, the narrator. A++++

This discussion at 6:33, when he was faced with a dyno to a jug, refers to his solo of the original route on the rainbow wall in Red Rocks. He had only climbed that route once before and forgot about the dyno around 700 ft off the deck. Totally wild.

Really thought this was gonna be total clickbait but Alex honnold has actually fallen way more than I expected lol

You forgot his actual most amazing physical accomplishmemt. Traversing the entire red rock range. 25 thousand vertical ft and 25thousand decent and all in 33 hrs.

I really enjoy these more "informational" videos, especially the fact that your sense of humour still runs throughout!

Great video and happy I was still recommended it by youtube even with the mention of free soloing. Usually that means no monetization and less views. Alex Honnold is truly a spectacular climber.

"I'm gonna pull a Clif bar here..." Is a diabolical statement after the video contents, amazing

Just for context, 400 feet is 95 feet higher than the Statue of Liberty… that’s a huge fall
