In this video I show you how a kindle paperwhite works, how I have mine set up, how to add things to your library with kindle unlimited, a comparison between the kindle paperwhite 2018 version & the kindle paperwhite 2022 version, what it looks like to read manga on a kindle, and my honest thoughts on whether or not I think an upgrade (our first time purchasing a kindle paperwhite 11th generation) is worth it or not.

Kindles are great for dyslexia and irlen syndrome too, they have the open dyslexic font and a reading ruler. Both of these things allow me to read in every light setting without seeing rivers or a haloing effect on the words I’m reading

while i do love the feeling of physical books, i realized that i simply read more on my electronic devices. it's a little bit more cumbersome for me to take out a book on the subway, read, set a bookmark, close it, put it back in my bag, etc etc, instead of simply sliding my phone out of my pocket and getting a few chapters in. i find myself reading less often when i carry physical books around

I have the Kobo Clara 2E. This thing changed my life. I am reading much more than I ever did. I have 41 books in my wishlist. Now it's just a matter of finding the time to read them. I am in love with my e-reader. I love the dictionnary functionality to learn new words. The best 150 euros ever spent !!!!

I’ve been debating between this, and the oasis. Your pov was informative, and is making me consider between the two; although I feel I’d need more gigabytes. For me with this device I want to have the best amount of storage/capability in mind. As with most tech I’ve had in the past didn’t last long in memory, and I want the best bang for my bucks as I don’t want to get another one for at least 8 years; which is a lot of books over time. This is also understandable given I’m a uni student, but also similar to you I’d like to have a digital copy; as well as a physical hard cover copy. So that I have variability. So your thoughts helped a lot, and I’m a new subscriber!!!

I hear you. I have the Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition (the 2022 one with 32gb storage and no ads)….and I love it, it’s truly lightning-fast — and also because after ages you can finally organize books by collections (which is a new late-2022 feature on the Kindle devices). 💖 I had the 2018 model too, but I sold it because I didn’t use it much….probably exactly because it was sooo slow I always ended up reading on the Kindle app on my iPad.
Instead I don’t like Kindle Unlimited — since cancelling your Kindle Unlimited subscription cancels all the books you read with it, any book gotten through wouldn’t feel really “mine” to me; plus, I love re-reading my books whenever I want and if that need happened after I deleted (for whatever reason) my K.U. subscription I’d have to buy the book again. That’s why I prefer paying the one-time price for every book (all of which are romance LOL) I want to read….which given the super cheap prices most of them have is still incredibly convenient and affordable.
I also don’t like reading mangas on Kindle very much — which I use mainly for books — and prefer using my iPad for that because you can see the colored pages.
