The only furniture I’ve bought from Walmart were bookshelves and there have been great; the price was way cheaper than other places I’ve looked. I’ve had my 2 bookshelves for years and they are still sturdy.

Thanks for the tip on Overstock. The quality of furniture in walmart has been trash for years, & I treat my furniture delicately but they still suck. You think your getting a deal, but seems are popped, pieces are missing, & good luck trying to get them to honor a warranty (if you're lucky enough to have one).

I find the local Walmart prices are higher than some local stores. I stop shopping there a few months ago and don’t miss it. Different Walmart’s have different prices. Thank You for the advice.

It’s been 3 years or so, prices may have changed, but on 2 occasions I bought 5-shelf book-cases (for my crazy CD collection for $20, loved the first so much I bought another a year later (identical) again at Walmart, I believe $25 that time ($20 was probably a sale), but love them! Adjustable height, at least 6ft tall x 12+” deep, particle board with plane white laminate coating on all, 80-100lbs per shelf, extra pegs, plenty of holes. The only thing some may turn their nose up at is the backing board is thick stock chip-poster board (matching white), to me that’s not picking for the storage space you get. With Dollar Tree 3-for $1 bins that fit CD cases perfectly, I was able to (after nonstop 12 hours of sorting CD’s alphabetically by band, year of release, making sure the right discs in the right cases, I fit about 2, 000 albums, not quite my whole collection, but could pull bins out and find exactly what album by what band and year of release I wanted to listen to in 3 seconds. It’s a beautiful thing! Anything labeled “CD/DVD/Movie Rack is gonna cost double or more with no advantage over a bookcase. *remember to use the included nylon strap, drywall anchors and screws to hold it to the wall! You don’t want that falling on people, babies or pets!*

I learned the hard way that walmart furniture is very low quality! I bought 3 leather recliners, within 6 months one was broken and another's fabric tore. I won't make that mistake again.

I didn’t shop at Walmart for years! But then I found I wasted a lot of money buying at the high end stores. Ie plastic hangers from the Container store, when Walmart has a 10 pk for the cost of 2 hangers at the Container store. Yes the furniture is cheap but you can usually see what you are buying vs something online. And don’t have the hassle of that return. Most delivery folks are solo and hate having to manage big and heavy boxes alone. So your stuff gets damaged. At the store you see the box and load/ unload yourself. Will it support 250 lbs? No. But most things won’t unless designed for that weight.

Here's even better advice. Skp Walmart altogether. For years, the profits from Walmart have been being used to buy back stock for the Walton family. Now, Walmart is almost wholly owned by the Walton family. You are not benefiting your community or the economy at large when you shop at Walmart. Also, Walmart continues to treat employees like slaves, customers like trash, and they refuse to stand behind anything they sell. Shop small businesses and publicly owned chains and franchises. Examples of "publicly owned" include Target, Kroger, and any business in which you can invest through the stock market. Examples of franchises are Mc Donalds, Wendy's, Big O Tires. Most liquor stores are privately owned, and most hospitals are either locally owned or publicly owned...check their pharmacies. Shop local first. Then publicly owned chains and locally owned franchises. You can find this info easily just using Google.
