The Chinese Navy has fired a new hypersonic anti-ship ballistic missile from its Type 055 Destroyer. The new weapon resembles the CM-401 ASBM, and the DF-21 in a miniaturised form. Shipborne anti-ship ballistic missiles should provide a hypersonic weapon for Chinese destroyers, which will put the naval asset of adversaries under greater threat than before.

PLAN's modernization is really something admirable. Hope the type 003 can go into sea trials this year, that would be something. Type 003 escorted by Type 055s and Type052D with 094 Submarine :0 !

I read that China is not looking for arsenal ship but rather a concept called 全能舰 (All Capable Ship) with the development of the Type 055 and future. A ship that can do everything while being cost effective: AA, fight Carrier, shore support, etc. Since we know that China is planning to put railgun and lasers on the future type 055, it's getting close to the concept.

The real game changer is when all 052Ds are fitted with these. Also the more potent weapon is the H-6N (aerial refuelling from Y-20U) launched version of the YJ-21 which can extend the range 2-3 times.

it means that if it is fitted into a battle group, it can then demolish other battle groups even before enemies can engage the Chinese battle group.
It means the Chinese will have a blue ocean navy pretty quick.

The YJ-21 is the ship-based version of the DF-21D, but unlike the DF-21D, the YJ-21 is a hypersonic missile with a range of 1200-1500KM. This missile can be launched from both ship and air.
Recently, China launched the YJ-21 hypersonic missile on the Type 055 destroyer and hit the target accurately, which shows that China has realized the comprehensive strike capability of hypersonic weapons on land, sea and air. After DF-21D and DF-26B, China's hypersonic missiles have further completed the strategic deployment of A2/AD. No matter in the East China Sea, the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, or the U.S. military's sea and land targets west of Guam, they have all been hit by China's land, sea and air firepower targets.

Yes ENI, a significant development, whether it's an ASBM, Hypersonic missile, or ABM. On my channel, I suggest it's likely to be an ASBM. Good videos of the launch 👍 Just makes the Type 055 even more "Super".

the ship launched yj21 is good. But the air launched version is even more game changing. The air launched version has an even bigger booster, plus the air plane's altitude and speed, means the missile has even higher range. And airplanes are much harder to detect, responds faster, and more nimble. In the future, any warship that doesn't have significantly large (1500+km) air surveillance and interception capability will be at great risk. Both are equally hard, surveillance at 1500+km require large number of advanced AWACs platform, advanced ground based long range and ship based radar systems. Interception is also challenging, these bombers could be escorted by 5 gen stealth fighters.

It is quite weird that it changed direction just a few seconds after launching, while a ballistic missile wil be shooting vertically up and up until it enters its parabolic trajectory, this one changed course to be horizontally flying, so it should be a supersonic of hypersonic cruse missile.

You can immediately buy K-destroyers with K-missiles and K-radar. 빨리빨리

GaN process is not deployed yet in China.
But F-35 is no longer a stealth fighter in front of quad-band AESA radar of China's Type 055 destroyer. The presence of the F-35 can be detected at a distance of 500 km with UHF radar, and the relatively accurate location of the F-35 can be found at a distance of 500 km with focused L-band AESA radar to guide the missile.  The high-power, large-area X-band AESA radar can saturate the entire X-bandwidth of the F-35 TR-3 APG-82(GaAs, ~2029) radar or F-35 block4s APG-85(GaN, 2029-) radar.
L-band radar of E-7 is also vularable.

Recent K-frigate with S-band AESA radar with 9 RMA (baesd on GaN) did show 1.4 times higher PAP (power aperture product) compared to that of  SPY-1D(V). 

If 69 RMA will show 81 times which is higer than that of SPY-7.

In a recent K-LSAM (for ascension phase interceptor at height of 40~100km) development test, it was shown that the head or tail of a HGV that is maneuvering fiercely in evasion can be selected and hit. Large X-band radar based on GaN were used for guiding K-LSAM to a target K-HVC. 

Hyeongung (meaning black arrow as an interceptor missile at an altitude of less than 20 km) is for intercepting supersonic and hypersonic anti-ship missiles.  is, wh
Haegoong (Black Arrow, up to the height of ~20km) with the TVC is enough for intercepting YJ-21 at a low altitude. 

The 20mm bullets fired by the Phalanx(US CWIS) are weak to crush supersonic anti-ship missiles, and search and fire control radars of Phalanx cannot respond to the speed of mach 4.

K-CWIS (emitting 30mm bullets as GoalKeeper) was being developed based on 5 X-band (GaN) AESA radars. 4-face  for searching, 1-face for controlling fire.
The K-CWIS(CWIS-2) is being developed as a missile defense last resort to crush supersonic anti-ship missiles.

K-LSAM and Haegoong have accurate TVCs for extremely high agility. SM-6 and ESSM which don't have TVCs are not  enough for intercepting YJ-21.

Hyunmoo-2C is similar to YJ-21. You can launch it on the even K-frigate.

K-LSAM will be launched from KVLS2 which volume is two times larger than MK-41 VLS. KVLS2 is for hypersonic glide ASM(Hyunmoo-2c), supersonic ASM, and subsonic ASM. 

K-supersonic ASM may be world best because it meets everything you think.

The accuracy of K-missile is top class because the tech. on SEMI conductor is also top class.

Above missiles except K-LSAM and the HCM (hypersonic cruise missile) were deployed already. supersonic ASM and HCM will be integrated into KF-21 by 2028.
The first flight test of HCM was planed in this year.

At last, I think KCIS(Korean Combat Information System) can be bridged with Aegis because KCIS and Aegis are famillar to Korean.

Btw, are all ballistic missiles more than hypersonic? Since it’s follow a fixed trajectory? If that’s the case, would that not make it more vulnerable to counter battery like THAAD?

I am more amazed with the YF21 that the H6K is carrying. That is more deadly than the above video. Imagine the Bomber can safely travel inside South China Sea when they reached the extreme end they will launch the YF21 lobbing it for another few thousand kilometres away. After releasing payload, the H6K bomber can safely travel back to home base. Aircraft carrier better be wary...
