In my opinion, the owner of the boat should have been cutting the yard in exchange for parking his boat there, I know I sure would. Not just that its the right thing to do, but also so it doesn't look like theres a vacant house with an unattended boat just sitting there for the taking. Thieves pay attention to stuff like that.
