Tip with the cric kit. Cric kits have a 6.0 tube which is pretty small for getting a good tidal volume. I’d recommend adding a small BVM to assist respirations because if you’re at the point where you need to cric someone, you’re also at the point where you need to take over respirations.

Edit: I’m just a street paramedic so I’m not trained deep into the tactical world. Just a few tactical certs

I am in search and rescue and use that same bag to carry my kit everywhere I go! I highly recommend it! It houses your chest rig decked out with my search gear very nicely 😉

Just a small suggestion from an old paramedic. If you have a cric-kit you should have a collapsible BVM. And consider a couple of Sam splints. Love the video and organization.

That's... not what a "Speedball" is. This is not even an assault pack. It's... an "Emergency Pack" as he said. A "Speedball" is a bundle of Ammo, Batteries, Food, Water, Fuel, etc that gets pushed out to units so that they can maintain the fight. Individual persons don't have a "Speedball" for when they shot up all their ammo and burned up all their juice.

The radio kit is in a SOE fupa. It's an awsome piece of kit in and of itself.

Idk what the contracting background entails but that's not the way we use that term in Army SOF. A speedball is a prepacked emergency resupply of food/water/ammo/batteries/etc that someone else is able to pick up and bring to you. Instead of giving your support element a grocery list of what you need you just tell them to deliver the speedball to you at X location or emplace a cache or whatever.

The only thing I would add is either a pocket BVM or pediatric BVM since it'll pack smaller. Cric kit/airway stuff is kind of pointless to fix the airway if you can't then ventilate the patient (assuming they've lost their respiratory drive).

More of a hit-and-run bag than a speedball, but good info just the same.

Back in my day, the first time I ever heard the term Speed Ball was from the woman that gave John Belushi his last dose of Poison.
Times have changed, I can't keep up with this nonsense.
I'm curious why we can't refer to it being a GO Bag or Emergency Rescue Bag?

Cric kit and no bvm? Bold move Cotton.

This is a cool setup, but this isn’t a speedball. They are specifically for resupply in a particular situation. Hence the ability to be tossed from passing QRF/support or stashed/cached. Ammo, water/food, med resupply, backup comms and navigation items, etc.

This is a ready bag, contingency bag, or in wildland fire would be called a “red bag”. Of course they would be tailored to the specific users and missions.

I think the concept is solid, but let’s not muddy the waters with misuse of terminology. This has long been an issue with Mike’s videos too. He just says random shit.

New drinking game. Everytime he says “Comprehensive”, you take a shot of Pendleton. Enjoy the blackout
