The biggest guy in my gym does like 5 plates sumo rack pulls and I thought it was impressive, but then teenage Cbum pulling 5 plates conventional full rom.

Agreed. For me deadlift feels the safest to max out on. Squat and bench I maximize reps.

Some insightful advice by cbum. The biggest risk for high rep vs low rep is if you’re doing more than 12 reps, you can get mentally fatigued easier or lose concentration. Low reps you risk compensating your body and injuring to move the weight.

Not to mention the fact that you can still gain lots of strength by training for hypertrophy but the strength gains aren't as much but it's still worth it because it's risk free

I love that almost everyone in the fitness industry has an opinion on squat bench or deadlift being a dangerous lift to either perform or max.
Yet the amount of people who think any given lift is too dangerous seems to be about equal to the others.

I agree, as someone who blew his stomach out deadlifting, the risk for 1 rep max is not worth it, I 1 rep maxed 480lbs dead list, 2 surgeries later I still cant deadlift.
