Just a note: apparently they have labeled it on the website as being made in China. I honestly don't remember seeing that when I ordered this month's ago but I also probably wasn't looking for it as I, like others, were under the impression that everything was made in Brandsford Pennsylvania

I have had the Zippo butane torch version for acouple years now and it works perfectly and is windproof. I went to the butane version due that damn fluid leaking out on my leg or gear in my pocket. Lighter fluid can leave some pesky skin irritations. One way to look at the china thing, Americans still get paid to assemble, market, ship and even get paid to unload the chinese boat. Good review

I have serveral Zippo lighters and even some had warmers. I really like this yellow flame butane lighter., I do like the lighter fluid smell simply for nostalgia (my dad) think I might get one or more for efficency. EDIT: just listened to your cons and now I think I'll stick to the regular fluid lighters... the Made in America issue....and price. Thanks Anthony

No air pocket like the single torch Butane insert? Single torch died within 6 months, tried removing the brass limiter but of no use.

What insert is the one that you don’t have hold the button for it to stay lit?

Which one uses more fuel - butane torch or butane soft flame?

The thing I don't like about the torch is it can't illuminate a room like a yellow flame does. Better buy both if you have extra cash. I use fuel saving insert from Zorro on my Zippo it sort of fix the evaporation problem as it's wick has a cover besides the Zippo cover & the bottom is covered too.

None of the Zippo branded inserts are made in the USA. The only Zippo butane made in USA is the Zippo Blu or Blu2. The Zippo Contempo was made in Japan. All Zippo branded butane inserts are made in China.

Great review. The wind issue is a problem. And the "made in" thing is a good point, too.
The dual torch works well. More wind proof than the classic, directional flame, no evaporation.

I hate this insert because the wheel and angle of the button hurt my fingers when I try to use it. I purchased the jet insert instead. Works far better and the button is much nicer since it gets the space where the wheel would be. I liked it so much that I purchased a few for some other lighters I keep around. I got rid of the original inserts. Smoking with old-style zippos tastes disgusting. It ruins whatever you’re smoking, especially if it’s a pipe you keep having to hit. Great video, thanks!

To be honest this thing being made in China is probably a good thing, compared to the Zippo blu lighters from a few years back this is much better. ( I had two of those blu es explode on me)

Is the flint for the soft flame same as the flint for the fluid flame?
