Installing soft close drawer slides on a cabinet #woodworking

Having lots of trouble w slides. How do you measure where to install slide on drawer box so it aligns w slide on cabinet? How do you allow for space under box so it doesn’t ride along bottom of cabinet too tight? I want 1/8” gap between drawers.

What are the triangles on the bottom for?

So when you cut the pieces of scrap to the "same exact length", did you measure them...thus defeating the "I try to avoid measuring" statement? Lol
