HEADPHONES RECOMMENDED FOR THIS VIDEO!

Today, I am going to be comparing Windows 11 Pro to Windows 11 LTSC. These are two very different editions of the same operating system, so today we are going to see if one of them has any performance gains on the other.

Dear @EverythingeeB
I just want to highlight.
At 6:41, it is true that Win 11 Pro wins while copying big files but When working with a lot of small files Win 11 LTSC wins by a huge margin (67 vs 101 Read, 49 vs 134 Write) and (19 vs 24 Read, 27 vs 64 Write).
And this is one of the reasons Win 11 LTSC was wining in many cases before.

Sorry in advance for the wall of text. Bear with me.
I used MS Works in windows 98. It had plenty of features. Spell check, full font manipulation, color, size, font, margins, page layout, whatever. Matter of fact, I don’t recall it being very different then word processors now. I don't recall it taking more than 10 seconds to load. Wrote long homework essays. No issues.

Well I was using it on a computer with a 133 megahertz pentium. And 16 megabytes of ram.
I don't get how _MS Word_ can possibly _not_ open _instantaneously_ now. Matter of fact, I don't get how MS Word could possibly not be instantaneous 20 years ago. By then, processors had reached over 2 gigahertz in (2000+ mhz), and gigabytes of ram (1000s of megabytes). Hell, it should go back in time and launch itself 5 seconds before you go to open it.

Kidding aside - computers are in a whole different dimension at this point.
So I don't care how now / feature packed. MS Word is… It’s a word processor. Not a video game. Not Doom Eternal. Not Doom from 1993.

It's baffling. Throw an -entirely valid - reason it it requires more processing power out there. Hell, tell me it needs hundreds of times more computing power than what I was running on windows 98. (I can pull out a computer from the 90s and use side-by-side, right now, today). Sure... Ok. Hundreds of times more power for 'x' reasons. Seems crazy, but whatever, ok.
Well I say... so what? Hardware today is literally _tens of thousands of times_ further along spec-wise than it was then.
What is going on? Seriously??

I swear that they are currently programming things with languages designed by shamans to help potatoes grow, faxing them to Tasmania, and asking AI to translate them in real time every time the program opens.

At 2:22 - Basic Browsing Test - As you know, OSs tend to slow down and get sluggish after a couple of years of updates applied. Give it time, the Pro vers. will likely slow down as well even more than it is already....

Could you perform the same test between Windows 10 LTSC and Windows 11 LTSC?

Wow LTSC has classic default apps which is lightweight

Have You checked if there are any differences in CPU frequencies? I assume that on PRO CPU has lower idle frequencies and probably there are differences in CPU schedulers.

Question is, if you did these tests 10-20 times, how much of a variation would it be between each run? It feels very random whether one loads something faster than the other, and it could just come down to happenstance of some scheduled task or something. Bottom line is probably that Windows in general ain't that speedy 😅

That was the single best ending to a youtube video ive ever heard 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (not joking, gosh that was magnificent). Thanks for making the vid, helped me decide wasnt yet worth the upgrade from 11 pro to 11 enterprise (yet), but now I know once my system starts getting bogged down after a year or two enterprise is a great alternative.

The bottom line is; If one as a pc with a windows 10 mother board, they don't have MANDATED 1.0, 1.5, or the new 2.0, which pro mandates tpm TPM CHI. Windows 11 LTSC doesn't require a TMP, thus the pc with a windows 10 mother board, upgraded to the window's 11 LTSC, unlike there not getting any more support in OCT this year. Will get 11 more year's of support.

For gaming, i tested both Windows Home and LTSC, measuring latency with LatencyMon (3x 5 minutes for each). I can confidently say that both Windows versions have nearly identical DPC latency. While LTSC has significantly fewer processes, handles and threads, this doesn’t seem to make a noticeable difference from a latency standpoint, which is quite interesting.
Windows 11 Home showed slightly better and more consistent highest measured DPC latency, while LTSC had a lower average DPC latency.
I wouldn’t have believed it if i hadn’t tested this myself over the past few weeks. It just doesn’t seem worthwhile to switch from Home to LTSC purely for gaming.
As you’ve shown in other cases, LTSC makes much more sense for scenarios like running legacy apps (especially Notepad for me) or avoiding feature updates. However, strictly from a gaming perspective, where latency is crucial, there’s essentially no difference.

01:40 please see cached and paging file too, LTSC is less than Pro version.
More paging and Cache file = More Memory consumption on the background. That's why LTSC more lighter.

Would I need to set up Secure Boot on the Windows 11 24H2 LTSC?

Hello everyone, I have installed Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC. I also previously had the Win 11 PRO version and can say that it is much faster than the Pro! You really notice it when gaming, everything is much smoother and faster. It is really noticeable and visible. All games run and the system feels great, runs absolutely stable for me the best thing I could do was switch to this version! Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is super awesome!!! :) I hope I can get some people to install this version. ;) My internet ping dropped from 16 to 10. I no longer have any micro stutters. INCREDIBLE!!!

For the ram usage I got completely different results.
I'm using LTSC on my personal computer and 11 pro on my work laptop.
in idling my LTSC one uses 4GB of ram, while the work laptop is at 11GB
Both have 32GB available.

How many processes does LTSC run as default ?

I had a feeling LTSC would be a bit faster, but some of those results blew my expectations out of the water.
You should probably disable Windows update when running tests like this since it can be pretty random.
