Real life Slimming World members talk about the results they've had with Slimming World from transformed health to painting your toenails - what are the big (and little) things that have made a difference in your life and weight loss journey?

Anna’s Slimming World experience spans 20 years – through challenging health issues, getting married and becoming a working mum – and that’s just as a member! She’s also been a Slimming World Consultant since 2011 and more recently a Slimming World Online event host, so she definitely knows her Slimming World stuff.

Clare is a self-confessed yo-yo dieter who’s ditched her on/off habits for a steady Slimming World lifestyle change. Loneliness, boredom and heartbreak have been big weight loss blockers for Clare, but her new, healthier relationship with food has seen her lose more than 5st with Slimming World. Please note: the information Anna and Clare share is based on their own personal weight loss experiences.

I hope you two know how encouraging this is ..I only joined SW this week and feel inspired by your podcast Thankyou ..loved the ‘paint my toenails’ bit ..it’s such a ‘thing eh’ when the belly gets in the way …Thanking our bodies is key yes 🙏🏻

Thank you for this. I have struggled the last few weeks to eat as I know I should, but yet have been thrilled that I am now able to fit into size 20, which is down from size 22.

I find when my joints feel stiff and are in pain, I can’t do as much energetic exercise, and I find I eat more.

Being pre-diabetic is proving a challenge. Also having Ostioarthritis and having had both hips replaced I can’t run like I used to, so it is harder to lose weight. Not impossible, but definitely harder. I have always had a sweet tooth, so it really is a challenge to move away from having sweet things.

Best thing I ever did was join SW. My husband was having treatment for cancer and I wasn't looking after myself properly - he and the kids and the dogs were my priority. I wanted to lose some weight - just a stone - but more than that, despite being a good home cook and growing our own veg etc, I was eating the wrong things. It came to a head when I got a really bad kidney infection and couldn't think ahead more than the next thing I had to do/place I needed to be - I stopped at a local garage and bought dinner for the kids and I, everything on the plate was orange! I made a decision that day - to join SW. I am so glad that I did - I've never looked back. I am a target member but not a year in to it yet - I love SW and have no fear that I will slip out of the healthy habits I have now.

Having joined SW a million times before this time I ‘got it’. I learnt to embrace the whole concept of food optimising and to not beat myself up if i slipped ip. Obviously there are so many benefits to losing weight - buying whatever you want in clothes, feeling so much fitter, having more energy, more confidence. But for me the best thing of all is feeling in control around food. Feeling full, happy and satisfied eating food I love which is delicious, and knowing that this is for life.

I started slimming world last year in December, and before I started I was 15 stone 4 and now in January I have lost a pound and now I weigh 14 stone 9.
Also I still suffer from social anxiety and autisum and I didn't like the way I looked. 😢
