You forgot the mention the costs for advertising, creating a website if you can't yourself, hosting etcetera. These are all small amounts but it adds up really quickly.

I'd love to do this & even though I'm not a boomer & can navigate a laptop/phone just fine, i wouldn't exactly call myself " tech savvy" & i think that would cause issues creating these sites etc .

How many units was the minimum order quantity from Alibaba to get 3x margin. That is how it works. You may make $3k per month but lets assume MOQ (given its a low value product so will be high) is 1, 000 units. You've paid $3 per unit so in this hypothetical case $3, 000 - you need to sell 300 units to break even. How many units did you sell in 2 weeks? Not that many I would assume. Let's also break down those margins given you are selling these through social ads. A total guess but I would assume your cost per acquisition is a minimum of a few $, lets say $3 if you're good at the media buying. That is a cost price now of >$6 this doesn't include storage, shipping or admin costs. Assuming you charge shipping to the customer, and you can sell one of these a day, it would take you a year and a half to break even, if you can sell them.
