Man, to anyone who needs corning practice but can somehow effectively analyze themselves in video, my hat is off to you. I must have spent a hundred hours filming myself this season to work on corners and even knowing what "good technique" is supposed to look like from youtibe videos I couldn't fix squat. After all that I got a 3 lessons with a coach and it changed my life.

I was always taught to ride banked berms with pedals level, only drop the outside foot on flat turns?

The leaning thing is so weird as Im starting my MTB life, driving motorcycle on the road and track Im used to lean in to the corner, keeping the bike more upright...

Am I th only one that backpedals a half turn... a LOT...?

I probably lead with my left foot more than the right.. but I swap feet often.
Usually I find I'm backpedaling 180deg between each corner in a quick set of turns... Continually swapping the trailing foot to lower back outside.
As I exit the corner I can backpedal and not strike the inside foot if still turning out of the corner.
I'm not sure if its a bad thing... but I don't see it much in videos.. Most seem happy to stick with one foot chosen to be forward in left & right.
I prefer my forward foot to be on the inside so if I have to lift a foot off (which is almost always the inside foot), I find it easier lifting the front foot..
I also find that trailing my outer foot gives less issues if I strike it. If it was down and forward I find a strike rotates that foot down and to the rear, lifting the rear of the bike in the air (Hilarity ensues)... if it was down and back, it kicks up, but often the bike continues without loosing traction.

Again this is me... not advice... just my own observation.

(Also I have a derailleur with a clutch so my chain is quite stable in backpedaling. (Near no frame strike ever...) backpedaling like this on previous bikes (other than the Foes that had Chaindogs(see my vidoe walkthrough) could drop the chain when backpedaling, specially in the rough...)
(lost track now of how many brackets I need to put on the end of this paragraph... have a
