My dentist who is maybe in his mid 60s has told me my whole life “NEVER let anyone pull your teeth out unless absolutely necessary” i appreciate his sincerity even more now

Before I got braces my orthodontist wanted to pull 4 teeth, we told my dentist of 20 years, also a retired orthodontist, and he said "absolutely not" and he called them! I ended up getting another orthodontist and nice straight teeth without losing any!

That happened to me as a kid. The excuse was "My adult teeth were coming in too fast, and my mouth is small." It was a traumatizing experience that scarred me for years. It took a long time to get over my fear thanks to a great dentist to be and new dentists I've found.

Something we don't talk about is those of us that got four teeth removed to get braces also have a smaller bite because of it. When I bite something, like a candy bar for instance, I noticed how small my mouth is versus other adults that I haven't had teeth removed

It's kind of crazy you have to go to school for many years to get into these professions, but then there's no regulations for making sure you're up to date with you're education in the profession. The stuff you learned during your 8 year medical schooling even 20 years ago is already outdated.

My orthodontist told me I needed 4 teeth out with braces and jaw surgery. Got a second opinion from my hometown and they signed me up for Invisalign, ideally not needing to get teeth pulled and definitely no surgery. I can’t tell you how much this video resonated with me

i never knew getting 4 teeth removed is a thing. i didn't know anything about dentistry and teeth stuff. and they removed my 4 teeth also when i was 15, i wish i had you back then. it's been 10 years 😬 thanks for your videos love them ❤

I got 4 adult teeth out and braces put in the same day in highschool. I legitimately couldn't remember 99% of the 3 days after. I remembered walking to a couple classes and sitting in science class and just being in pain.
