🗣️ Under the jail! That baby is traumatized. Getting hit by a car and initially thinking you’re paralyzed, has to be next level scary. And then to think someone can just SEE you & attack you is shocking… keep in mind she’s absorbing all of this at 14 years old

As a white guy from Minnesota...I can say I'd be proud to call this family my neighbors and friends. I can't wrap my head around unsolicited hate. So glad Natalia is okay and that her pops is strong enough and brave enough to know that they are certainly more than welcome here. Good people!

I work a few miles from where this happened at a convenience store. I'm not fluent in Spanish but work on it every day because I have Hispanic customers who speak little to no english. One day a man needed something that I didn't understand. I fired up my trusty Google Translate and we communicated. After all was said and done he took my phone and typed one last message. I'll never forget it. "Thank you so much for helping us. So many people treat us very poorly." It broke my heart but it has also spurred me on to continue my lessons. They are so appreciative when I try to communicate with them. It makes my heart happy. Now we have so many construction teams who come in. They feel welcome and appreciated.

I remember when this happened. She’s lucky to be alive. I’m glad she is and I hope she is able to live a fulfilling life. Her family did nothing wrong and have no reason to leave. It’s hard to wrap your head around this stuff. Praying for the families. 🙏🏻

She was sentenced in May to 25 years in prison on the state charges, and on Thursday a federal judge sentenced her to 25 years for the two federal crimes, to be served concurrently with the state sentence.
