Navy SEAL Training Phase 1

preview_player
Показать описание
BUD/S comprises three phases, and most SEALs consider the first phase to be the most difficult. But why is that?
When candidates first arrive, they are all individuals, and the instructors must mold them into a team, and the first phase serves as a gut check to force out those who are truly not committed. The instructors have many ways to induce pain and misery in those who think they have what it takes to be a SEAL.
From the infamous rock portage, where instructors force boat crews to crash into rocks, to drown proofing and constant pressure from having to pass events, those who make it to Hell Week are still in for a rude awakening, literally.
Instructors during Hell Week start it off by shooting blank machine gun rounds and whistles. What then ensues is a week-long marathon of 20 hours of physical activity a day with just eight hours of sleep for the whole week. But even for those who can make it past the first phase, many challenges are still awaiting.

When I went in 1992 (I hurt my knee and was dropped subsequently from training at the end of 2nd phase after pool competency week, I was one week away from third phase land warfare 😞 )there was four phases, fourth phase was actually the first phase and it was called preconditioning phase.
So it goes like this:
1.Pre-Conditioning {4Phase}
2.Conditioning (Hell week is the sixth week of this phase,
altogether nine weeks){1stPhase}
3. Dive phase(Learning dive physics open close circuit Drager mark five rebreather Det cord underwater obstacles etc.)
{2nd Phase}
4. Land warfare (blow shit up out at San Clemente Island)
{3rd Phase}
class 191

And it’s called hell week break out they marched us down the beach where they had green Canvas military tent’s set up in front of the big huge Sand Burns in front of our training facility also known as the grinder they brought us and it was pitch dark except for Chem lights tied up around the inside grinder square on the polls, (also where the bell to ring if you wanna quit and the helmets of those men on the ground to remind everyone what waits if they quit) they had 50 gallon drums half full of sand were they were throw percussion grenades shooting in 60s in the air with blanks several fire hoses Soaking you down, “welcome to hell we boys”

This first started putting us in boat cruise and then making us do various evolutions obviously we would fail multiple times and be sent to the server to get wet and Sandy or like a sugar cookie come back and have to do exercises on the pavement called the grinder like I said before, and then it was five more days of pure hell we got our first two hours of sleep on Tuesday morning at 2 AM and then another two hours of sleep Thursday before we were finally secured Friday at 12 PM At the demo pits, they march us back down the beach to those canvas military tents and they are loaded with Domino’s Pizza and Gatorade at celebration I slept for two days true story

Yeah, … you had to have some strength and endurance…,
But the real question was could you handle being cold and wet to your core without sleep for days ….
And still remain mentally alert enough to think somewhat clearly…,
They are after mental toughness… That’s the drill

Alot of people miss the key component in this. They want to turn you from an individual to a person who is reliable and reliant on a team. Can yall go through shitty conditions together? If not your not making it. If so then you are a candidate.

My class we only had 4hrs of sleep in hell week. I don't remember sleeping to be honest. This type of training is needed if u want quality brothers having ur back when things look grim. God bless brothers to all that are still in, gone and retired.

Hell week is more like 4 hours of sleep for the week, unless Bud/s has gotten gentler over the years
