“Don’t prepare, take it like a man” The worst advice you could ever give anybody.

Cold showers would actually help you deal with the cold. Its different from getting kicked in the nuts.

I now understand why being a ‘quiet professional’ was so important

If I need to prepare for the cold 🥶 I take cold showers. If I need to prepare for a kick in the nuts... I'd wear a cup.

That's the dumbest statement I've heard him say

Just for reference. It scientifically does help you prepare for a shock to your nervous system. If any of you have done ice baths. It's wild every time but it objectively does get better over time.

"you know what just stop preparing" "be a man and go in unprepared and be miserable"

Taking cold showers has health benefits and strengthens mental fortitude.
Getting hit in the testicles causes lasting physical trauma.

Part of cold showers would be learning how your body reacts and how to breath during the stress on your body. Would think it would clearly help.

Cold showers are super good for you and your hair and skin health. Definitely do recommend. Also slow exposure to the cold will help prep for cold.

And if the kid said "not preparing, I'm taking it like a man", the guy woulve said, "no go take cold showers"

Discipline is the preparation. Exercise every day, keep your house perfectly clean, and do something different that is hard every day. Read a hard book. Take an ice bath. Run 20 miles. Work a double shift. Climb a difficult cliff.
Do things that make you want to quit.
And just don't quit.

seals are so mainstream now. It’s sad. “Confidential” service…. Proceeds to write a book about all their confidential shit

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. I am certified white water rescue and I can 100% say that being used to being cold, wet, and understanding how your body reacts when it is, is crucial. Does it still suck? Yes, but you are prepared and do multiple times better than someone without preparing.

What I love about SEAL's just like the SAS they never talk about their experiences and pride themselves on their anonymity

You guys are tough guys forget what these other people are saying I appreciate what you guys do. They don't realize what you guys are. I love all you guys. Y'all are all American heroes. My grandfather was a medic his unit fought all across France Holland Belgium and over into Germany and to me it makes him a hero. He was awarded 5 bronze stars for valler. He said all I done was my duty. All the heroes come back home in a coffin or are buried over there. Thank you for what you do.

You now know every soft bag of meat out there is going to use this as their personal excuse to not train because "I'll just suck it up when I get there like a seal, man". The human body is a wonderfully adaptive thing. You can climatize to some of the harshest environments known but it won't happen overnight. Being able to tough out the suck, and actually being an asset to those around you are not the same thing.
