The honey made it worse because like with water and capsaicin, honey won’t dissolve or neutralise the acid powder used to make the sweets sour. So the particles were being moved around your mouth and then the backs of your throats and got stuck there. The viscosity(which normally is useful for soothing sore throats) was clinging to your connective tissue and basically holding the particles against the surface to cause more irritation for longer, making the sensation worse. Just like water moving capsaicin around the mouth and making the chemical touch more of your receptors.

Or at least that’s what I think is happening from my own experience eating sour sweets like this. I was the weird kid who never really found toxic waste sweets to be that sour and I was always looking for more sour sweets so I have a lot of experience. So cool to see the pain games are continuing on this channel, even if it’s not spice related.

Also if you do another episode like this, do not- I repeat DO NOT use alcohol to try and stop the sour. You will be in a world of pain
