As my coach use to say: "people who work hard and are talanted gets first places. People who work hard and are not talanted gets second places." It is true. In any proffesional sport at any time there will always be a talanted hardworking champion, but as long as you love what you do, keep working and you will be great at what you do - just not the world record holder or anything..

Talent will make you go fast. Training makes you go far.

Talented or not, everyone will eventually end up dead.
Just do as much as you can, with what you got, and enjoy the journey as much as possible. Life is too short to envy talent and look at what others have.

*I was born as average as anyone can get*. *That is why I get up 6AM every morning & hit the bed at 11PM to work on my goals*. *Sometimes I even skip sleep*. *Because I know that I have to work twice as hard than those born lucky with a* "*Talent*". *It's unfair but I wont complain*, *because the fulfillment I get from my hard work is the best feeling in the world*.

If endurance is talent then that means marathons are really just long talent shows.

this is almost depressing. Its like you can be amazing at a sport if you're lucky but if you're not then too bad coz you'll never be as good as that other guy who's got the genes.

This is so freakishly true. I train my ass off almost everyday and there are people out there who has naturally big bones and muscle who do not even work out.

Unless everyones training 100% of the time, it will always be training being the bigger advantage.

Hard work will never beat talent with equally hard work

My art professor in college posed the question 25 years ago: Do you learn or do you just discover what you actually already know. The older I get, the more I realize we are genetically set to be what we will be with all other things being equal. My daughter in high school could do her calculus homework, watch TV, and talk on her cellphone all at the same time. And she made all 'A's. She made the HS basketball team, but wasn't the most aggressive or top player. I look back and see the same parallels in my own life.
