The Arab Revolt EXPLAINED

During 1936 in The British Mandate Of Palestine, the influx of Jewish refugees from Europe to their historic homeland of Israel caused many Arabs to protest the former’s immigration and to declare Arab independence. Starting with the Jaffa Riots of 1936, Arab militants rioted and targeted Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem and beyond, with hundreds of Jews losing their lives and homes in the process. Thousands of Arabs lost their lives as a result of Jewish resistance groups and the British Army fighting back, and the revolt officially ended with the release of the White Paper of 1939, which acted as a compromise.
