In this video I'll demonstrate how to convert a physical machine (in this example: Windows 7) to kvm/libvirt/virt-manager/VMM.

This is really appreciated. Can you explain a little more about your custom kernel changes that do the configuration steps automatically? After learning the by hand method here, how do you go about automating and applying it? For instance once you figure out a certain model/hardware configuration, then subsequent conversions can be automated?

Move existing Windows 7 to virt manager
virt-p2v, copy physical pc to linux server over ssh connection

On Debian 10:
see: libguestfs org
sudo apt-get install libguestfs-tools

First make a link:
sudo ln -s /usr/share/ /share

Make p2v usb key with linux libguestfs for mowing physical pc to linux server:
Usb 16gb fat32 format:
sudo virt-p2v-make-disk -o /dev/sda
Or iso file:
sudo virt-p2v-make-disk -o /home/boot.iso

on my old pc, ubuntu-16.04 was the only version there could boot on it, see: virt-builder --list
sudo virt-p2v-make-disk -o /dev/sda ubuntu-16.04
