The 2013 Generation 5 Cirrus SR22T turbo offers more than a new 3600 pound gross weight increase and extra seating. Aviation Consumer's Larry Anglisano flew the new model halfway across the country to sample the compilation of recent improvements that could make the G5 SR22 the best Cirrus yet.

Jotting across the country this would be a great way of travel at a price, plus parachute is better than wishing you had one.

I wanted one but I cried at "400 thousand dollars" and even more at "720 thousand dollars "

That's truly correct. Thank you Richard for correcting me.

No traditional control yoke in a Cirrus. Just the same, control feel is quite natural and the absence of a traditional control yoke creates a roomy cockpit.

Tell me about the customer service you have are they cooperative when something goes wrong with the aircraft ?
I hear not !
I would like to purchase a cirrus but this issue is a big problem with me and is not working well with a cirrus owner I know that at the moment is having big problems fixing a troubled engine on a 1 year old aircraft he was brushed off and told to deal with continental him self .
Whats your take on this and will I have the same problem a year later ?

Can you get it in yoke rather than stick?

Enjoyed the video. Especially the Cirrus reps input. Work on the hand gestures. And make some more Cirrus videos! Good Job!

Awesome plane! Why were they both wearing oxygen masks? Isn't the plane pressurized?

Cirrus SR22T G5 is a nice aircraft to fly.

Classy and expensive but undeniably irresistible plane.

For $750, 000 I would think someone would prefer to buy something more than a non-pressurized, aspirated, fixed-gear, piston single engine. over-priced!

If your reason for buying a cirrus is the parachute, chances are you shouldn't be flying a plane anyway. I truly believe that's why they have a high incident /accident ratings, because people that ordinarily wouldn't fly get a false sense of security. Like my dad and uncle would always say if anything happens just fly the plane, just fly the plane.

Thanks for the video. I can't wait because I'm starting pilots lessons in a cirrus sr20. I just think it wasn't the best idea to do an interview while wearing the oxygen masks :) other than that I loved the video

Overpriced is a matter of debate.  Cirrus has been the #1 seller in GA for several years now.  Somebody's buying them.  Yes, Mooney is faster, but it's also a complex design with folding gear...more maintenance and more insurance.  Mooney's cockpit is also less roomy.  Still, if I had the where withal, I'd probably have a Beechcraft. :-)

Tim, while you bring up a valid point, you missed the point of my comment. I said it was an awesome plane. My criticism was based on value vs. performance which is what 90% of people buying airplanes are considering. We all love a good looking plane, but pilots by their very nature are conservative. If i'm spending 700K I expect the plane to give me the performance of other 700k planes. In this respect, this plane isn't a good value. Doesn't mean it isn't cool though!

Great but as it doesn't have pressurised cabin I'd go for Cessna TTx

Too much money for this plane.  You can get a cabin class pressurized plane for half and less than that.  I get this it's low cost to maintain but it's still a single, don't want to go over water for a long period.  Cirrus does a really good job giving you things you want, and it's very attractive, but considering most people don't stay in their planes for long in the GA world it's a bit too pricey.
