Hi! My name is Alice and I love books! I read just about everything from classics to contemporary fiction to all kinds of non-fiction, and love reviewing, recommending and just generally having a chat about literature. I currently live in Oslo, Norway.

I like that you go though all the shelves, very thorough!

Wow, you have a lot of books! It's so interesting to me to hear others' thought processes about keeping vs purging. I'm not much of a rereader, so I tend to get rid of books immediately after reading them. I have maybe 20 exceptions that I do reread, at least in part, here and there.

This is so satisfying! It's fun to hear your thoughts as you go through your shelves.

I say this every time, but I love these videos so much ❤️ I haven't even watched it yet, but I'm already looking forward to my break to watch it 😂

I love the English Library classic editions. I recently bought A Natural History of Dargons

I recently found your channel and am really enjoying your videos. I particularly love your diverse tastes in books . I'm hoping your purges will be great inspiration for me to do the same, as I am notorious for never wanting to give up a book. 😂

Loved watching you go through your books shelf by shelf. I think you'll love Everything I Never Told You. It's one of my favourite books of all time. I can't wait to read her new book! It's so exciting that she's publishing another book ☺

Nice job, Alice!! It's so hard to purge books- it's such a draining chore. But I always feel fantastic after I do it! I think you'd like The Secret Wisdom of the Earth. It's about a small town, and focuses on the friendships and family relationships there. Overall it had an intimate and nostalgic feel to it. And you MUST try The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie! It's either not your humor and fun- or you'll LOVE it and devour the entire series (which I did- and my best friend too once I turned her on to them)!

For me Becky Chambers is one of those authors where I always want to have a book on hold that I haven't read. Makes no sense and is very understandable. :D

Might be a fun idea for a video (series) to read the books you never seem to be able to get to but don't want to unhaul, since you have quite a number of them :)

Let's hope GRR Martin is making it, right?! 😊 maybe he is secretly working on both and surprise us! (Clinging to this belief out of desperation) 😄

Great video! Oh, I loved "The Wonder", but it's a rather quiet, slow book so not everyone might like it. I also got the Tory Bilski book for Christmas as I was obsessed with Icelandic horses during the beginning of my riding lessons as a kid (books about riding and horses were what I mainly read at that time and I thought this could be a nice "adult version") ☺

Amazing taste in books. Did you read Never Let Me Go?

Why are bookshelves always designed too small for our book collections ..? 😆 Also, I propose a new equation thingy...the pain of purging a book is inversely proportional to it's beauty🌺 Pp : Bb ( 🤓, don't come for me, it's late!! ) Great fun as ever 👀 you dismantle your shelves Alice! 🌞🌻

I watched The Big Short movie first and then went back to read the book to get more details.

It makes me sad to see you getting rid of A Natural History of Dragons, which is my favourite series ever, but I get it.
(You could try the Preface of the book, which is a good representation of what the series is... but I'm not pressuring you.)
I need to get rid of my Galbraith books too. Never going to continue the series and not going to reread them either.

I hardly ever comment on these, because well done everybody who is strong enough to get rid of stuff BUT, and I don't mean to shit on your parade, I really think you'd like Wonder by ED. It's historical, female protagonist with feminist views, close proximity, rural community etc. Even though it starts slow I devoured it in two sittings cuz I found it that gripping.

a tree grows in brooklyn by betty smith was pretty disappointing for me if you want to get rid of another book. it started off great but fell v flat towards the end.
