Jordan Peterson approaches the Bible all wrong

Following Jesus is more complicated that you might think. From when I first became a Christian, I struggled to understand what it meant to be a faithful follower of Jesus. Many Christians today seem too similar to the world. After twenty years of honest wrestling I have found the solution to my problem. It has to do with the struggle between two worldviews: humanism and revelation. Christians are often a confused mixture of the two and this leads to a complete breakdown in the maturity.

When he talks about religion he will say at the beginning of the conversation, he not speaking from a theological perspective but a psychological analytical perspective. He is speaking from his own understanding through the same principles he uses in his work. He is a God fearing man but not in a way you and I are. Because of this, he does get some things wrong, but his views is not set in stone because he is always learning and speaking to others theologians. Those conversations are amazing.

I sadly think you are mistaken. What is wrong about testing the concepts in the bible? What happend to «the truth shall set you free»? If it is the truth it must be able to withstand the testing (which I think it does by the way), but testing it is a good thing. Believing in it blindly is foolish, not wise. I only yesterday had a revelation about Jordan’s views on the bible and suddenly understood it a lot deeper. Jordan is proposing something much deeper and meaningful than most christians are. I feel most christians really look at God like the «sky daddy», and think they can understand Him. Jonathan pagaeu has a brillint speech on this subject. My faith is only stronger since I realised this truth about the narrative. I think that was what Jesus was talking about when he said «not everyone who says to me "Lord, Lord, " shall enter the kingdom of heaven». What you believe is not really what you say you believe, it is what you act out. And who are any of us to measure ourselves up against Jordan Peterson? Maybe it is the «normal» christians who got it all wrong. The gate is narrow after all…

I’m under influence that “problematic” approaches to studying the Bible only exist in us. Believing that any man’s scrutiny threatens the word of god. Presents as you having a lack of faith in the teachings and in your heart

Since we want to be religiously, correct how about we paint the correct picture on what he looks like and put them in the church? But the first thing you bible thumpers say is that skin color doesn’t matter, but it sure did matter to have it in your church and to broadcast a false ideological image of God or Jesus aka Zeus
