Homemade Natural tick repellent

We have been using this natural tick repellent spray for a few years and it really helps us and our German Shepherd dog stay tick free while out hiking and exploring nature.

Here are the ingredients and measurements to make the tick spray.

1. 1 tablespoon of vodka
2. 40 drops of rose geranium essential oil.
3. 1/3 cup of distilled water.

This makes 4 ounces of the natural tick spray repellent.
Use a 4 ounce glass bottle that is amber or cobalt to protect the oil from deteriorating sunlight.

Hi, Dennis, Kullike, Kassie. I agree with you I don't like chemicals and buy as many products without them as possible. I am very sensitive to chemicals, so is my bird, Beenie. Do you need to reapply and if so how often? I use Lavender oil and it needs to be reapplied. Always open for new and improved.

Good tip. I'll try it sometime. Removed a lot of ticks throughout the years. Friends, family, pets. The one time I had a tick myself in an awkward hard to reach spot I was in the middle of nowhere with a girlfriend who was afraid of ticks. "Just use the tweezers and twist it slowly" - "No I'm scared" Just my luck.

Some years ago I was infected with Lyme disease by a tick bite and it wasn't fun at all. Do you use it on Kassie as well?

Oh so going to make this. Everyday one of our family members find at least 1 tick on them sometimes two. From Nova Scotia Canada & I have never seen them as bad as this yr. I’ve never had a tick on me ever before this year . Thanks for this.
