Google Home Hub Exclusive First Hands On Demo

Here is your first look at the Google Home Hub. It's a Google smart speaker, but with a screen that shows your photos, YouTube videos and visual answers. There is also support for Spotify, YouTube TV and control of smart home devices.

It's $80 cheaper than the Amazon Echo Show and unlike Facebook's device, there is no camera to creep on you.

Google Home Hub launches in 4 fun colors on October 22 for $149.

It should have a camera. There is no reason that mic off slider also couldn't move a mechanical shutter in front of the camera lens like Lenovo did with their unit.

Saw the home hub in person in carphone warehouse in the uk yesterday. Was surprised how small it was in person. From what we could tell it was only in a demo mode playing videos so didn’t get much hands on but the screen looked good and audio was good too

Ended up returning my ghh cuz I couldn't get used to the lack of a camera. Hopefully the next model will have one!! Also the audio just wasn't up to par. Got myself another lenovo smart display during the BF sales instead!

What's the sounds quality like is it as good as Google mini? Or better? I don't like the sound on the home standard to much bass for me even set to lowest settings in the app. Thanks.

The screen is just so small. I really want one but I need a larger option. It will outsell the Lenevo and JBL devices (which are both great devices) because of the much lower price but it seems like a lot of sacrifices are being made here.

I will wait for a model with a camera. I use hangouts or duo when calling relatives and this (best placed in the kitchen) would have been a great option for video calling.
For now, I will keep using my Google Home to make (audio only) phone calls.
