Fast & Easy Filament Jam Fix For The K2 Plus #creality #k2 #3dprinter #3dprinting

Some people are reporting that you can only use Creality filaments in the new k2 plus. I’m using polymakers. Cardboard spools with bent edges and am not having any issues. A lot of the jams have not been due to spools. Well somewhat. When using reality filament there is a lot less resistance when the CFS is asking for filament because they glide easier. Now when you’re using cardboard spools, they don’t glide nearly as well and that combined with a tight spring in the back is what’s causing the jams. If you address the spring issue you should be able to use whatever filament you want. It’s just the cardboard spools that are bent and dragging, combined with too tight of a spring results in intermittent jams. As you can see in this video, I am using bent cardboard spools with no issue after several days of printing. Clipping one ring off the spring has pretty much solved any jamming issues on the k2 plus.

Thank you so much! I will try that and will see if it helps with the issues i have been having with the CFS.

I added washers to add tension to the bottom bracket spring seats to resolve my issues with chewed up filament. Plus I also changed the box.cfg file to slow the speed of retraction back into the CFS. Plus increased the amount the extruder retracts after the cutting cycle. These two changes absolutely eliminated my cfs jamming and chewing filament issues.

gonna try this tomorrow, mine keeps jamming right at that spot and cuts a half moon out of the filament then it's unable to move to keep printing! hopefully this fixes it!

So how are people actually getting the spring out? Or are they clipping it while its still underneath?

Nice of you to beta test Creality's new product. I'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd generation, "version 1.0". I'm surprised consumers put up with this treatment from manufacturers

How do I get the spring out? Or do I need to clip off a ring while the spring is still in place?

how is the tolerance accuracy with the k2. i really want to try the bigger build volume but its hard to go back from bambu with how well they perform straight out of the box but its been a good while since ive used anything from creality so id love to see it being as good out of the box as bambu labs stuff has been cause that would bring me back.

There is a lot happening. The CFS sit's on a hot box. The heat from the K2 warmed the filament to help it dry out. The issue is the filament drive sits very close to hot glass. The Hyper ABS I am using softens as it gets hot. The high tension spring causes the drive wheels to deform the filament making it very weak. By the time it gets to the extruder it doesn't take much to cause a backfeed breaking the filament in the extruder. When the system tries to bring it back it detects the internal jam. I place a screw in the threaded brass hole in side of the extruder when removing it to keep the inner spring from popping out. Then I can remove on of the drive wheel to pry out the broken filament. Weakening the CFS drive wheel spring should help the system from deforming the warm filament so bad. There could also be some configuration errors too from the factory to consider. But if cutting a loop fixes the problem, that's what I 'll do.

Quality control still high at creality then 🤣 its almost like they barely bother testing machines before public release

I had two failures in a row from filament breaking in the extruder. The machine jams. Then, when it retracts, the filament breaks off in the extruder.

Cutting the spring makes no difference. The issue I am having is a blob of filament is getting broken off in the extruder. This is not supposed to happen. The machine is supposed to cut the filament before extracting and the extruder is not supposed to extract fully. Once cut the CFS is supposed to pull the filament back leaving filament in the extruder. Once a new filament comes the extruder grabs it and pushes the old filament out the nozzle until it is fully purged. This could be a programming error.

If they were free, I still wouldn't have a Creality printer in my farm.

Yeah, another diy printer from Creality. This time $1000+ diy. Also don't bother with TPU it's not gonna make life easy. One nozzle per project.
