I had an Ischemic stroke last Thursday. I was told that it was from a heart fibrillation. Since then I have been very tired and a bit light headed. I have a follow up with my doctor tomorrow. Your video is very informative.

I watched this video 2 years ago. Today my dad woke up and fell out of the bed because he wasnt able to use his left arm. I asked him if he feels it and he said no its weird. I asked him to hold his hands infront of him and turn them so that the palms are upwards which only worked with his right one while is left one fell down. I called Emergency services asap and when they arrived he walked to them and laid down. Not even a minute later the Doc told me to wait while my dad had a stroke. 5 Hours later I now know the damage is there but my fast reaction and the imediate reaction of the docs maybe saved his life. Thank you for the knowledge which enabled me to put the clues together

Indeed. Extraordinarily presented. I had a TIA about 2 years ago. MRI showed It was in my cerebellum. Doc said about the size of half a golfball tissue loss.
Had some right side coordination issues, that resolved in 3 weeks.

They did corotid, temporal ultrasound for blood flow. They checked for bad heart valves and atrial fibrillation. All good. Doc said that they can pinpoint causation in 50 % . Stayed in ICU 5 days, whilst they monitored and kept blood thin with drugs. Recurrence risk peaks at 4 to 5 days.

Oddly enough, I’d had a bad tooth pulled about a week earlier. There are some reports that suggest that dental “trauma” does irritate the epithelial cells and can increase stroke risk.
Your thought on this would be of interest.

I enjoy all of your videos! However, I would like to point out that if a stroke affects Broca's area it is similar to Wernicke's area in that it causes Aphasia which is the loss of the ability to express or understand speech. When you mentioned slurred speech, I believe you may have been referring to dysarthria which is caused by damage to the motor nerves controlling the speech muscles. The primary symptom of dysarthria is slurred speech production while the primary symptom of Broca's aphasia is the loss of the ability to express language. Thanks for all of the great work you do! Just thought I would clarify. I am a speech-language pathologist and couldn't help myself. :)

had my stroke on October 18th, 2018 at around 2:30pm. I made a full recovery, but they still have no idea what caused it. they said I had high blood pressure but are still looking for an actual cause because I was so young when it happened. I was 30 which is apparently very young to have a stroke. so just in case they put me on heart medication and anti cholesterol along with aspirin. I was at therapy when it happened and the hospital was right down the street so I was able to get help fairly quickly. I would begin to lose function of the left side of my body, and then it would settle down and i would regain function again. that happened five to six times before it finally settled down, they kept me in the hospital for two days to monitor me.

This was invaluable. My health care system is so backed up, I cant even see a cardiologist for months. Luckily my wonderful doctor ordered a vio patch and that has help us with some of this pathology Im having.

I had my first stroke when I was 39. I have retinopathy in my left eye now. No metabolism irregularities, no diabetes. No atherosclerosis (clean arteries). I have profound auto-immune disease including Antiphospholipid Syndrome. I do have irregular deadly bouts of hypertension caused by hyperaldosteronism, not CV disease, likely aggravated by a myelolipoma on my left posterior adrenal gland. Medication that controls this well (Spironolactone) is now causing Addisonian crisis' frequently. Interesting video.

My father had an ischemic stoke las Sunday. He went to EC and was transferred to ward later. He had CT scan and MRI scan. I was quite confused why doctor did not use TPA on him. Only aspirin was given to him. Your video is very informative that I realise his stoke might be caused by global reduction of blood flow, a combination of little water intake, cold environment and bad emotion. His symptom was numb and weakness in one arm and dizziness. In his 3days stay in hospital, his arm restored some sensation. Maybe blood supply went a bit normal? But his LDL is not good, doctor put him on cholesterol medicine to prevent future stoke.
