I had atrial fibrillation and didn’t know it. I had a stroke and got to the hospital within an hour and received a tPA and was released from the hospital three days later with no deficits. I was very lucky. Two heart ablations later and I’m just fine. Will have to take an anticoagulant for the rest of my life, but so what? My advice to anyone seeing a cardiologist is to do exactly what they tell you.

Wish I received this. Had a ischemic stroke at 15 years old. Doctors assumed I was on drugs and did nothing for me for four days.
