The LeLead and the Windsor sounded best to my ears.

Instead of listening to what I think was which amp I tried to listen to which I preferred. Which initially for me was A and D! Very surprising

Sorry this is a random place for this question. I hate bothering people. I'm a solo, at-home guitarist chugging riffs into my PC. With my budget, and not being drummer, I have SHIT drums sounds. Literally the cheap sounds in FL Studio at the moment. What a viable, reasonable solution for authentic rock/metal drums? What do solo riffers like myself do for drums?

I know EZDrummer seems to be pretty popular. Is that really the only viable solution? I'm so used to taking sounds from a sound library into a step sequencer. EZDrummer seems to have so much that I don't need. Wish there was a "lite" version with just the sounds.

Also, total newbie question. When recording two guitars for left and right ( that's overdubbing right?) Do you record both in stereo?

Anyway, recently found your channel. Fucking love your videos. Thanks!

The Waves PRS Archon was consistently my favorite. The free VST was a great surprise, very good sound.

Waves sounded the darkest and muddy. I liked c and d the best.

I think once it gets recorded it is hard to tell the difference but if you are playing the cabinet itself will sound different than Studio Monitors which are designed to reveal flaws, where a cabinet is tuned to make a guitar sound good. So a cabinet will often sound better while playing and if you know your system, probably way faster to tweak. But a good amp sim will ultimately have more options to make detailed adjustments for mixing but requires a mouse to really tweak.

I thought AMP A sounded familiar but I couldn't tell what it was. Neither can I tell if it was real or virtual. Great comparison as always. I wonder if you have made comparison of Two Notes Wall of Sound vs Two Notes Torpedo Live? Do they sound differently, with one being a hardware unit while the other is a VST?

So I totally like the sound of my amp sims better than real amps (using S-gear 2.7). But... I’m having issues with the noise floor being amplified by the amp sims and am trying to come up with solutions.

The noise floor is still present with the guitar in the hum canceling position and with the volume all the way off. So it would appear that it is just just the guitar picking up all the noise.

I was curious if you might have any tips on how to minimize that noise to get a cleaner signal when using amp sims.

My set up is guitar > Focusrite scarlett > Mac mini.

Great comparison, thanks!
Peavey Windsor is my favorite.
I am surprised by how I disliked the PRS Archon, having used it already for lead guitars..

First test. A sounded like boiled butt holes. B sounded Oky but had a sock stuffed in it’s mouth - however highly usable IMO for when a band is going and you want to blend. C sounded the best on its own. Fantastic. But it might need some top end dialed back to blend with a band. D pretty close to C. Also good.
