Great review Jamie, I did end up grabbing the game when it was inevitably heavily discounted. Great game, one of the few to have that same Study in Emerald end game condition of teammates that you backstab. One thing though, you teeter back and forth in your review about the differences between 4 and 6 player counts without mentioning the sweet spot of 5 players where you add in one Neutral player who you don't know whose team they're on until the end. Adds one more really interesting layer of manipulation to the game.

Great review Jamie. Enthusiasm, candor, and a great short overview. Thanks!

The production quality of this review is outstanding! Super clear overview and well laid out thoughts. Would have maybe preferred a little more time on the overview with some more video clips demonstrating gameplay. Secret Cabal is one of my favorite podcasts and will now be my first choice for video reviews. Great job, Jamie!

It is a pleasure to watch your reviews. They are short but at the same time you give stacks of information and reflection without talking fast. Great image colour and even if I'm not interested of the game I loving watching the video.

Great review Jamie. I like how you always include the sensibility in the pricing of the game
and how sometimes there may be a mismatch between who could/should have access to the game and who can actually afford the game. As more "hobby" games move into the mainstream - It'd be a good topic of conversation on your podcast. ( with me as a guest.) har har.

Love the podcast and the youtube content keep up the good work, listening to older episodes while keeping most of the current when they come out, but that is my pod cast listening for a lot of stuff.

I think this game is better the more I play it. It's actually pretty fun as a two player game. Tense all three times I played it with two. It was fun with 5 as well. Very nice game. It IS overproduced and could have been a $40 msrp with lesser components. But it does look very cool. The boards are excellent. 'Spare no expense."

The board itself, not the crusade track, really reminds me of The Witcher boardgame from FFG.  This looks interesting, but not sure if its something that we'd get into as negotiation games are not something that we normally play.  I'd definitely love to try it out though!

What about the French neutral's abilities?

Machinations and manipulation, sounds like totally my thing. The way you mess with your "teammate" reminds me of A Study in Emerald which has me excited... but ultimately you're right about the price. I dig my mini's but there's only about a dozen in this game, why so expensive? Hopefully the price drops eventually.

How does this game compare to A Study in Emerald? It reminds me of that game.

Havin teammates you try to control means this game is best with 4+ players then?

So this is probably terrible with two then?
