English Spelling rule #4 - Doubling Of The Final Consonant (Updated)

We need to double the final consonant while adding vowel suffixes to monosyllabic words, with a short vowel sound, and end in a single consonant. This rule can be applied on multisyllabic words too provided the syllable stress is at the final syllable along with all the other conditions fulfilled.
