You’re more likely to get killed in a car accident than getting killed in the hoods of Tampa. That’s a fact. The people are reckless on the roads.

If you’re thinking of moving somewhere in the city in Tampa, drive around there at night before you decide.

I’ve been in Tampa for 21 years and been a bus driver here for 8 years..
Sulphur springs definitely has more respect and “street credit” that you give it here.
Armenia is considered safe aside from waters and Armenia and that’s only because they have a plasma selling center there.
Cross fletcher is commonly referred to as “suitcase city”

If you live in Tampa, you definitely know about Sulphur Springs. Parts of Ybor and the Heights (not by Robles Park yet) have already significantly cleaned up and are showing signs of major growth, but the springs hasn’t taken much of a turn at all. It’s a bad area you wouldn’t want to catch yourself in after dusk alone

I love that you call out the realitors that lie when they make videos trying to fool people into moving to Tampa just so they can make a commission. Personally I don’t mind any of the neighborhoods in Tampa. Coming from Chicago I always pay attention to my surroundings and I think the people of Tampa are cool to be around

Just discovered this channel, great video! I moved from Maine to Tampa about 13 years ago and know many of these. Would love to see a mini map that outlines the neighborhood in the corner or something but great to see live street video!

I grew up in St. Petersburg and lived in Tampa for 13 years. I used to live in some of these neighborhoods, Sulphur Springs, Cross Fletcher, University... and worked in East Tampa and attended classes at HCC in Ybor City. Let's face it, half of Tampa is a ghetto. Great video. I used to work at the crisis center and helped a lot of the homeless and mentally ill. Tampa is a tough city, but I agree with most of the people commenting. If you show respect, mind your own business and don't go looking for trouble you probably won't find it. Tampa is very diverse, most of the residents are very cool and friendly, unless they are shooting at you or trying to run you over.

I would be very interested in seeing you talk about the suburbs east of Tampa, valrico, plant city, seffner, Brandon, Bloomingdale, Riverview, fishhawk, lithia etc.

Your review was pretty spot on. I’ve been a cop in Tampa for 35 years and we do have some bad areas. Some of these places are getting better but we have a long way to go. There are a lot of other places worse off trust me. Get involved in your town and be the change. If you see something say something. Improve your little world where you live . Life is precious. We all need to love one another as neighbors and family. Great video . Being aware of your town can bring positive change. I love Tampa but we can improve. Have a safe day and be the change in your community. ❤️👍👍

The only thing I would say is that everyone would agree that Sulphur Springs should be higher on this list. And Armenia is generally safe even though it's run down.

For someone that lives in Florida I appreciate the time you took to make this video

Respect for what you did on this video. You were honest and calling people out for their BS.

Lifelong Tampanian here and I can tell you where you live in Tampa by the zip code... Tampa has long been a working-class city. Fun fact - During the 1940s-1960s, the city "used" to be controlled by notorious mobsters, and corruption used to be rampant. However, as any other longtime resident can attest, gentrification, accelerated by the pandemic, has drastically changed the city's character. Living comfortably and/or completely crime-free within the city limits itself is becoming more expensive with more middle-class people, particularly white residents, having to move to far-out Hillsborough suburbs (i.e., Wesley Chapel, Citrus Park, Brandon) who can't afford to live in South Tampa or Carrollwood.

Great content. I've lived in and around Tampa for 17 years. I love it. Beautiful scenery and history in all of these neighborhoods. Moonlake though, IMO, not a Tampa neighborhood. It's almost an hour outside of the city in another county. Loved the tour though, thank you.

Visited Tampa for the 1st time last year. Thought I was in a nice area, staying by USF, which is bordered by Fletcher Ave.
But just going a few blocks west near Copeland Park, you start to see the poverty & decline. Then going south past Busch Gardens you see poverty. I was like damn, I’m surrounded by the hood. Still a nice city tho

This is the most legit video I've seen on someone covering Tampa. Other videos show Tampa and only the best parts not showing real struggles people go through and what we see daily. This was really good💛

I was born in Tampa and still here. I agree with most of these but a couple of neighborhoods you rated as 10, 9, 8 should be top 5 worse. I would also add Nuccio and the area near 50th street.
