"Don't over tighten it"... proceeds to continue tightening for several more seconds until shaking to eek out every last ft lb available from your body.

Ended up giving a follow just because of that ending 😂

You are correct about removing or evacuating the refrigerant in the proper way, glad to hear that. One thing you are incorrect about is your statement "that's it, all you have to do is refill the refrigerant". Wrong!
Now you have introduced air into the system. If you just refill the system with refrigerant you can ultimately ruin the entire system because of the trapped air. Now a vacuum pump must be connected to the system to evacuate the air and moisture in the system, then add the refrigerant.

So that's what I just paid $100 for. (Plus more for the freon evacuate and recharge.) I was quite relieved it wasn't a worser case scenario, but it's always interesting to see where I just wasted my most recent chunk of change. (2003 accord, 283K miles) Oh yeah, plus that additional $105 a/c diagnostic service charge too.

Should I be concerned if after replacing the valve I put in refrigerant without vacuuming the air out. The system works fine and shoots out cold air.

Also. You say put refrigerant back in but you will have alot of air in your system. You have to vaccume it all out

Let me get this correct? If my low valve is leaking a little do I really need to vacuum the whole freon back out?

Do you need to replace both the high and low side schrader vavles? I got a kit as well.

My high and low cap are missing, how much does that effect the ac? The car takes ac coolent but escapes eventually? Or maybe just the valve inside?

after evaporating the system and changing the Shredder Valve do you add oil in for compressor?

You forgot to mention to evacuated the system using a vacuum pump. Once the system is open you need to do this to remove any moisture.

Hey bro, there's a way to do it without letting the refrigerant out. Saves a lot of time and money
