I've been doing this stuff since about 96. The one thing I always hated is the mentality that this stuff can't be taught as it is evil. It used to be extremely difficult to find information. The more I've been seeing people come out to teach people this stuff, not for anything malicious, but to understand and learn is amazing.

Love how we can probably all see a bit of ourselves in Serena. Not pretending to be some prodigy incapable of making mistakes or saying something wrong but instead using mistakes as motivation to learn and grow individually.

Love your content, David. Let alone the tech stuff, but you sir, are a pretty damn good interviewer. Thank you.

Cool video dude. Really loved the comment at 42 minutes(ish) about spending time learning and maybe working in a role but deciding you don't like it and you move on to something else. That's killer advice! I'm 46 and still trying to find my place in a working world. I like what I do but I know my protentional is greater.

Never thought TikTok could be a place to learn hacking. Thank you David for unearthing such hidden gems and giving them the recognition they so thoroughly deserve.

CISCO is the leading enterprise in network devices, no doubt. David, great content as always. I took your CCNA on Udemy and you are an excellent instructor. I haven't look if you have it but, do you plan to teach CISSP at some point?

Respectfully,

David, it's because of people like you that my job is so difficult. I work in a large tier 1 enterprise as a software engineer. Literally for every one of me with a business requirement to implement, there are a dozen IPSec guys telling me I can't do that. I mean it got so bad that they banned our use of the Java wire access protocol for debugging... in the dev servers. Because it's unauthenticated and unencrypted.... and allows all manor of nasty things to do be done to running software. They flagged all the things it could do as security hazards that wouldn't accept. I tried valiantly to make them see how ludicrous this was, the reason it's able to do all those things is WHY it's useful to software engineers. Taking it away is like bringing a modern car to a garage for diagnostics on it's electronics and then telling them they can't use the ODB2 or ECU diagnositics plugin.
That's only one example. Software engineers and our role and jobs are seen as LESSER than the IPSec guys. At every turn the fight us, tying us up in read tape with finer and finer granular access to things. When we commission servers by the time they are done "hardening" them, they are next to bloody useless for developing on.
If you ask for a Linux server, you get VM without root access and NO INTERNET. So you can't install any packages, unless you want to do it manually without yum, installing all RPMs yourself in order.
Net, net. A quick code change, build, deploy, test cycle can take an hour. What a dev in a start up would do in about 45 seconds.

activated bell for this channel - the last two videos were incredible. Thanks for building your community and taking educating so seriously. Typically I lose interest in your videos half way in. This was not the case for the last two videos
