John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Multi-published Author and in this video he is discussing how to improve the mobility of the thoracic spine through specific mobilisations. The mobility exercises will also improve the function of the sympathetic nervous system because they attach from the levels of T1-L2.

Bodymaster Method ® Courses are now ONLINE!

I’ve been calling these courses a culmination of my life’s work, and they really are and I’ve poured all my expertise into each of them – everything I’ve learnt as an osteopath, as a writer, and as a lecturer – to ensure that the quality of learning is no less than what you’ve come to expect from The Bodymaster.

And with my hand on my heart, I have to say that I truly believe the format and content are exceptional.

Many of my clinic-based Courses are now available to take ONLINE, and I’m working hard on the others.

All courses are fully accredited through the Sports Therapy organisation (STO) and count towards your Bodymaster Method ® Diploma. Each includes a full-colour PDF copy of my published book relating to the course, which I personally take you through chapter-by-chapter with accompanying HD video lectures and demonstrations.

In terms of his offer courses he offers, you can attend one at a time if you prefer or book all ten and receive a discount. Once you have completed all the courses you will be able to call yourself a Bodymaster Method ® Practitioner and be registered on his website with the letters 'BmP' after your name.

@Johngibbons Your techniques are simple.yet, so affective and amazing. I just used this on a patient who had thoracic pain for months, and she walked away pain free.Thank you so much 🎉

Hi John. Thanks for your compendium of techniques - very useful indeed.

New Zealand physio here. Nice technique - I've used it a lot. I find I can get a fair way down the thoracic spine by modifying it - say to about T7 anyway.

I use a plinth bolted to the floor - those portable massage tables are too unstable. Then buckle the sitting patient onto it with a seat belt around their pelvis. So they're thoroughly anchored.

Then when leaning back, I can hook my fingers (one set of hooked fingers reinforcing the other) over each spinous process in turn, from C7 down to about T7. Because it's so stable, I can keep up a strong, sustained, specific traction of each vertebrae in turn. Say for about 30 seconds or until my fingers give out.

I find this long sustained IV traction really useful for stretching tightened collagen around the tight joints. So they can stay freer better, not just tighten up again fast. You can add in more extension as part of the technique, of course.

I am hoping you provide some exercises (done at a personal level) helpful for the thoracic spine (particularly T6 to T8).

These techniques are incredible/outstanding* doctor. Your own way of approach is well (honestly saying, i have no words to experess mine after seen your's 📽️). Nevertheless! I felt good after seen this.

Moreover, i expect to know 'how to prevent🤔 ourself from this muscle injury/cramp after recovered once'. Due to it's had happen every particular circumstance unavoidably(even maintained good posture/doing exercise).

Hence, i asked the chaos with you.

Provide your valuable suggestions!(if possible)🤝🏻
