It’s amazing how you can hear a song a thousand times throughout your life, but you gain a whole new appreciation as you learn to play it. Thanks, Marty.

Awesome tutorial!

FYI:

Arpeggiating stuff for G and F: G: pinch D G B E B G D G. F: pinch D&E B G D G B E B G D G B E B

Strumming pattern: down, up, down, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up. (When you play it will start on the down, down.)

G power (down) AM7 (down up down up down up down up down) AM7( without pinky) (up) D (with pinky) (down) D (down up down up down up down up) AM7 (down up down) AM7 (without pinky) (down)

Hope this helps!

Thank you Marty!

I never learned this song, because the tabs seemed so complicated. You made it a lot easier to digest!

How anyone can play this and sing at the same time amazes me. It takes all my brain to play it.

I'm 62 and played this on my guitars throughout 25 years in service. However, picking up parts here and there while in Marines wasn't accurate as Mr. Page. Never was, until now!
When I came across your lessons I said to myself..."This Is A Very Good Teacher".
You're an inspiration and a perfectionist. The best kind with much patience for any layman to learn and learn it RIGHT.
Thank you for what you are doing and may God Bless your wonderful gift of teaching.

Tough song given so much chords and variations but it seems like the original when you teach it. We’ll taught and perfectly delivered Marty. Cheers.

Hey Marty!
Gaining on it! Thanks a million buddy! Too cool for words! Brings back a memory of running in the snow with my beagle pal Josh on a cold winters eve in '71 with this song stuck in my head. Very bright memory in what was otherwise a very dark time for me & now playing it. Means a lot to me, thanks man!
Stay safe, you & yours!

Come on guys, chill out. It's not perfect but close enough to fool most ears out there.
The studio version of the song has about 4 guitar tracks played over each other. I have heard Jimmy Page play it live and it's a freaking mess trying to play it by his lonesome.
Been playing 25 years and taught for 15.

This song feels like a companion to me since the early 70's. I am 61 now finally learning to play this hymn by the help of the one and only Marty Schwartz. It's no longer a book with seven seals, learn it in tiny steps, five to ten minutes per day and slowly but steady getting closer to guitar lesson part 4!
