I used Dropbox for a couple years and was happy with it, in particular its speed and flawless synchronization. Once I started freelancing, however, I became concerned about their privacy plan, so I switched to Sync. I can't afford to have my customer data (even metadata) being viewed or used for marketing purposes, and Sync's zero-knowledge service, that's definitely not a problem. The speed isn't as good as Dropbox, but I can live with that.

You should also evaluate Dropbox (and any other cloud service) in terms of their memory footprint. Dropbox is a memory hog. Just being idle, Dropbox memory footprint can be as high as nearly 1 Gb.

I have been a Dropbox paying user for 10+ years but when the file stored become 300K+ the performance of Windows degraded and now with 500K files it is unusable. If you right click on a file, it will get 45+ second to show the menu

Do you say anything else about any cloud storage except that it isn't as secure as sync, and you recommend sync? You cannot integrate Services if you don't share the data. But even so, you need a good team to succeed with the integrations. It is a lot to work with. Quite hard for sync. Don't you think? But, did you ever read the documentation from any cloud Storage after 2018? Do you see what other services offer in 2022? How can you compare sync with Google or Dropbox? 😂
