Dude… when I was like 5 I was so confused about this crash and that I always wanted to fly the Concorde. I was obsessed about this crash so much that it took me like 3 years to realise how bad it actually was for the Concorde, the hotel and the families of lost ones. Truly a tragedy that will never be forgotten. R.I.P ❤

Missed out a few bits, the aircraft was massively overloaded beyond its safe take off weight due to the captain adding extra luggage and fuel. Following the incident the flight engineer did not follow procedure and shut off a perfectly good engine still producing thrust despite being on fire. The aircraft began its take off run on an uneven part of the runway with a large bump on it causing the wheels to become misaligned prior to striking the metal on the runway. It should have never have began its take off role so many procedures were ignored prior to the incident.

Just to Clarify, Air France Flight 4590 wasn't a factor to why it Retired.
It was after 9/11 that shocked flying travelers, and the high maintaining cost of Concorde, it was the real reason why Concorde needed to be Retired

Fun fact:
This incident was the beginning of the end for Concord, however the events that took place on September 11 2001 would seal the Concords fate grounding the plane permanently, even though none of the super sonic planes were directly involved.
