Summertime sampler block 5 | sew along with me | make a quilt | simple sewing

Sew along with me as I make a quilt! This is summertime sampler block 5 in a series of 10.
Make TWO blocks of each design for your quilt.

Needed for ONE block:
3 - 4” x 4” squares - background
3 - 4” x 4” squares - orange
3 - 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” squares - background

Quilt measures approx. 41" x 51".
Fabric requirements for quilt:
light blue (background) - 1 3/4' yd
white - 1/4 yd.
dark teal (green) - 1 yd
dark orange - 1 yd.
mustard yellow - 1 yd.

Optional quilt size - 64" x 54"
uses 2 1/2" sashing, 6" wide border
Needed - 4 1/8 yards background

block measures 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" unfinished

Was hoping Block 5 would be up today. So far, am up to date with the blocks using some of my years' old stash. Thank you for your videos -- very helpful. I think I'll either make more blocks than the 20 planned for or maybe use extra borders because I'd like this a bit larger than just the 20 blocks.

This pattern looks a little like an orange star. The center square could be used to showcase a beautiful print or patchwork. I can also see a fish design in this block by just changing two blocks. This is an interesting block that is also a nine patch block. Than you for this video; and, for showing me the Old maid's Puzzle block. This is fun.
