Sew along with me as I make a quilt! This is summertime sampler block 6 in a series of 10.
Make TWO blocks of each design for your quilt.

Needed for ONE block:
1 - 2 1/4" x 20" strip - background
1 - 2 1/4" x 20" strip - orange
4 - 2 1/2" x 4" strips - golden yellow
1 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square - green

Quilt measures approx. 41" x 51".
Fabric requirements for quilt:
light blue (background) - 2 yd
dark teal (green) variety - 1 yd
dark orange variety - 1 yd.
mustard yellow variety - 1 yd.

Optional quilt size - 64" x 54"
uses 2 1/2" sashing, 6" wide border
Needed - 4 1/8 yards background

block measures 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" unfinished

Great block, almost zero waste. Four patches are very Zen to sew. A whole quilt with this block alone would be very easy to do. It's probably the idea of sampler quilt to figure out what makes you the happiest and to work to your skill level.
I often hear the sizes that you use and think this makes perfect sense to me.
