How to Fix JPEG & JPG Files Not Opening in Windows 10

How are the repair software for JPEGs? I have heard Stellar JPEG repair is also good . What are your thoughts?

Thank you Windows did a big update and opening pictures didn't work afterwards

When opening up [Files Explorer] in Windows 10, and navigate to my [pictures] folder - none of the thumbnails have pictures. Instead, they only show the [Photos] icon, and when I click on filename.jpg, I get the following message: "It looks like we don't support this file format."

I watched your video, but it did not fix the problem... This is what I did:

I opened [Control Panel], then clicked on [Programs], then [Default Programs], then [Associate a file type or protocol with a program], then scrolled down and clicked on [choose default apps by file type], then scrolled down to .JPG and clicked on [Recommended by Windows 10 - Photos]. I also did this for .JPEG. When tested this did not work, so I returned and clicked on [Look for an app in the app store], but I can't understand what app you are suggesting. I also tried changing it to [Paint], and [Paint 3D] but neither worked.

I also tried the following steps, but they didn't fix the problem either... This is what I did:

I opened up [File Explorer], then clicked on the [View] tab, then [Options], then [Change Folder and Search Options], then [View] and deselected [Always show icons, never thumbnails], and clicked [Apply].

I opened [Services], then scrolled down and right clicked [Windows License Manager Service], clicked on [Properties], and changed the startup type to [Automatic]. This didn't help either.

NOTHING IS FIXING THIS ISSUE... What can I do to fix it

System recovery is the answer. Just go back to the date before the fault occurred.
