Thanks for this. First off, I didn't know the iPhone could 'take' photo's in .jpg as my understanding (incorrectly) thought my iPhone 14 Pro Max could only take .heic so now I know different. I've now switched to 'most compatible' but wondering if there is truly much difference between the two options? With my Nikon camera I do take my images in RAW format, edit and then drop them down to a quality .jpg, and know the newer iPhone's take great images already, so I'll assume I just don't have the editing capabilities using the iPhone's 'edit' yet it still has the images looking pretty nice anyway. I do wonder if taking the images in .heic gives one more ability within editing, than if .jpg though...where editing in .heic and then do your edit, then converting to .jpg in a batch would result in a better image?

Instructive video. I somehow changed all the .jpg images to .heif on my iPhone. I verified the camera setting & it was set to heif. i must have changed it recently, thinking future photo would be in some nice format. is there a way to change ALL .heif files on the the phone back to .jpg.

Using your method to take .Jpeg does NOT take the metadata (particularly what I write in the caption) into my Apple Photo Library. That is important to me to label photos taken on my vacation and is the same issue with HEIC photos. Any solution?
