AVOID OVER-TREATMENT. How to resist patient pressure & sell skills not Mls [Aesthetics Mastery Show]

The problem of over-treatment at the hands of aesthetic injectors runs deeper than just the aesthetic impact.

In this week's Aesthetic Mastery Show, Dr Tim digs into some important questions such as: is over-treatment subjective and should it just be the patient's prerogative what they have done to their face?

He also addresses the case of reality TV star, Molly-Mae Hague, who had an extreme jawline from dermal filler in 2019, and has since had it dissolved. Dr Tim explains why he believes treatments like Molly-Mae's and those from 'Kim K ' price-per-ML packages, could actually harm your business, as well as how to avoid the over-treatment trap.

Bravo! Yes, sometimes saying "no" (with explanation) is best.

I am glad my injector is honest and conservative. I wanted my jawline done but she advised me not to cos it will make it masculine since I already have a defined jawline and no submental fats. It’s so important to have a good injector but also be an informed patient cos excellent estheticians are hard to come by!!!

Brilliant discussion. I definitely love your psycho social approach. I think on top of the ignorance of some practitioners about the psycho social impact of change of appearance, there is an acquired bias among good practitioners. Being exposed everyday to a certain results modifies your perception of what a "natural" look and beauty standards is. I think some practitioners might need a wash out from time to time to reset their perception. Thank you for your videos. It is valuable <3

I feel so sorry for Molly Mae that that happened to her face - as someone who has been botched multiple times by inexperienced practitioners, I completely feel her pain. I agree with the message here that it is not usually the patients fault but the practitioners.

Dr Pierce, can you share the reference for the longer duration of fillers in some patients? Thank you!

I've had the opposite problem with injectors.
They all want to give me high lateral chiseled cheeks that they give everyone else and I do not ever want that for myself. I have a narrow slightly long oval face and I instinctually know that contours, angles and shadows are not flattering for me. They don't realize that they dissuade me from coming back because of this. I get under eye filler for tear troughs I've had since I was a baby, for me it's an anatomy issue not an age issue, and I understand placing filler in the cheek directly under the tear troughs adds needed support and I'm fine with that. I just don't want any lateral projection.

Dr.Tim
I just turned away a patient because she had just received her covid vaccine.😔 was that right or wrong?

Hi Tim, just to let you know that nearly every video I view of yours, it shows your sponsored ads for your channel on the videos which in a way I think is a waste of your advertising revenue as the person is already on your channel if you get what I mean?
