I upgraded from the base 6 to the 9 pro and got it at half price, so it was an easy decision!

The main reason im upgrading is because of the satellite communication. Im a hiker and often dont have cell signal. The satellite service might be a life saver some day

As pretty ❤ as the 9pro is, NO way I would upgrade from an 8pro if nothing was wrong with it. I don't understand that type of thinking these days.

I just bought a Pixel 8 Pro to upgrade from a 5year old Samsung Galaxy 10e. I wanted something to get me through the next 5 years and the camera quality is a huge priority. I could have paid another $200 for a 9 Pro. I know the 9 pro main camera is a little better in low light, but not sure if it’s a big enough difference to warrant another $200. I’ve been jealous of the photos Ive seen people getting on their iPhone 16 Pros, especially things like low light Northern Lights photos. I’m hoping the 8 Pro rivals this and isn’t too far off from what the 9 Pro can do. I really don’t care about the selfie camera which is the biggest camera difference. Picking up an 8 Pro for $599 just seemed a solid way to get into a quality phone/camera set up. Hopefully I did good. 😬

The Pixel 9 definitely fixs damn everything that was wrong with the 8 series

I went 9xl two days ago from 8 pro. The 30% off and trade in value made a 256gb 9 xl 206 usd total from a 128gb 8 pro. Plus 84 store credit, and I plan on getting the p10 at launch. I loved the 8 pro. The 9xl has minor improvements, like you said. I didn't have the 7 pro, but 7 pro to 8 pro seems like a much bigger upgrade than 8 pro to 9 pro, despite all the glowing pixel 9 reviews. Pixel 8 pro is the sweet spot for price, and then you can look to upgrade to pixel 10, or easily be able to wait til pixel 11.

I have used Samsung since the first Galaxy till S20 then I switched to iPhone 13 and I had a surprise...my iPhone 13 was hacked and money from my bank account disappeared. I have bought a Google Pixel 5 and it was a big surprise to see it is the perfect phone for my needs. Now I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro and is a super machine! Before buying a phone check very well your needs! Merry Christmas✌🏻

You crazy! Pixel 9 Pro XL is way better in every way. Pixel 8 Pro always overheats in the Sun.

Imagine if Google had put the right fingerprint scanner on the pixel 6 and got it right first time? Their software is amazing but the hardware is always secondary and fails where Apple & Samsung excel....the basics.

Im still rocking the 6 that I had since the preorder with the free buds. The longest I went without upgrading a phone yet, but it still works perfectly fine so let's see next year. I'm also tempted by the OnePlus 13.

I upgraded from the 7 Pro to the 9 Pro XL and I am very pleased.

The price stops me from upgrading. Additionally, the iPhone look is very distasteful to me.

Am I the only one who prefers the design of the 8? Flat sides on phones annoy me and I hate how they're all copying it now.

After having the 8 pro and now the 9 pro, this is one of the rare times where I definitely can say I thought it was worth the upgrade year over year.

He forgot to mention that the 9 pro XL, has a vapor cooler thats another reason to get it, because I had the 8 pro and if I was on YouTube, for longer than 15 minutes then it would start to heat up. That's the only thing I didn't like about the 8 pro, besides that it was a great phone in my opinion.

I liked the 7 pro but always had battery issues. Then i got my hands on the 8 pro and was in love. Design wise camera wise and everything else.
The 9 pro xl is probably awesome but i prefer the 8s design and it is still great so ill wait for next years gen 😁

Coming from a P6. I love my P9P. The battery life is just ridiculous!

I got the 8 Pro for its amazing camera. The 9 Pro just seems like a very gimmicky upgrade, so even if I was an annual phone switcher, I probably wouldn't have bought it. In terms of design, I think they're both pretty ugly but that's not a deciding factor, obviously.
I hope they're gonna focus more on hardware improvements in the future and less on AI features that most people are never gonna use.

I upgraded from pixel 8pro to 9 pro XL due to modem connectivity, heating leads too battery drain and fingerprint... It was annoying with 8 pro, till now I never faced anything with 9 pro XL after 5 weeks

Having run the Pixel 8 Pro with Android 15 for 6+ months I can say that the benefits of the Pixel 9 Pros have been fixed now in the Pixel 8. There is really little to gain and I would save your money in the hope the Pixel 10 offers something worthwhile. My Pixel 8 Pro never heats up, and gets me 10 hours SOT when used constantly, say as a satnav on 4G. With the extra cost of the Pixel 9 Pro XL at launch it was an easy pass. Since then, I suspect sales have been slow, as Google are now doing deals--but I would still have to pay £650 for the XL, trading-in my 8 Pro, and there is no way that I could come close to justifying that.
