In this video you will learn to interpret a box and whisker plot.

Lets look at this Box and whisker Plot
Here is Q1 Q3 the median, the minimum, and the maximum
Each section represents 25 %
Next I would like to go through some questions to help you see what the Box plot tells us.
1.What was the high number of A’s earned by students? 24
2.What percent of the class earned more than 12 A’s? 75 %
3.What percent of the students earned more than 23 A’s? 25 %
4.What was the median number of A’s earned ? 18
5.What is the interquartile range? Q3 – Q1 23-12 =11
6.What percent of the students have earned 18 or more A's so far this year? 50 %
7.What percent of the students have earned less than 12 A's this year? 25 %
8.How much did the number of A's vary? Max – Min 24-10 = 14
9.Write several conclusions you can draw from looking at the box plot?

25 % of the beginners had 23-24 A’s on a report cards this year
10 A’s was the lowest number of A’s earned on a report this year.
50 % of the students had 18 or fewer A’s on the report card this year.

Notice I use “on a report card this year” which is the title of the Box and Whisker in each conclusion

Shouldn't the median be 17?... Q1: 13; Q3: 21; IQR=8?
