I knew of a Mother of many children who during the day would lie down on the couch for 30 minutes relax and take deep breaths. This gave her tremendous energy to care for the kids.

Meditation CAN help...
I dropped my 20 min Meditation practice of many years, and replaced it with many concious single breaths, through out the day. I have never felt so present and joyful! There's no point in training, then going back to the same subconscious habits.

I agree 100%. As a girl I was taught about meditation and it was to in the end have all your thoughts cease and now at 50, I prefer to meditate for a much shorter time 10-20 mins and vary the types I do. Guided meditations are something I enjoy as well and find that after I do feel more at peace or if I've been having troubles with my anxieties, then I feel much less stressed or nervous. Exercise, meditation and good sleep habits along with eating healthier foods helps immensely!!

Muslims do that regularly everyday, that is called prayers. Especially night prayer ie during the last one third of each night before dawn. Miraculously i never felt tired in daytime despite less sleep.
