I was Diagnosed With Stage 4 Cancer 1 Year Ago

I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma exactly one year ago today. This was a recurrence of stage 3c metastatic melanoma that I had been in remission from for almost 4 years - not exactly the news I was hoping to get, but hey - that's life.

One year ago, I also inadvertently started this YouTube channel and this vlog. It has been an incredible resource for me, and I believe it is helping other cancer patients and their loved ones. Each one of these stage 4 cancer vlogs provides me an opportunity to help my own mental health and share my own experiences as an advanced cancer patient who has fortunately made it to remission now.

So happy for you!! You are such an encouragement to me and so many others. I had Stage 2 Melanoma 45 years ago and it just spread to Stage 4. I've had 2 treatments of Nivo and Ipi. My PET Scan is tomorrow and I'm praying for a great scan. I try to focus on the Lord and not on the outcome. Thank you for all you do.

A lot of people die within days/weeks of finding out they have advanced cancer. Any time we get after diagnosis is precious but also comes with a cost. Well done for making it a year with stage 4. ❤ Heres to hopefully many more. 😊

Ya I hate the anxiety waiting on bloodwork, stage 4 cancer of any type sucks .
So far I'm doing well, a bit tired at times but the treaments do that .

I had a near fatal reaction to that same combo. Immunotherapy in my opinion has extremely bad side effects. Congratulations on your recovery!

I have just been diagnosed with t cell lymphoblastic leukemia. Will be starting chemo on Monday.
