I think this just shows how ahead of it's time the Mark 2 was. Other than the single memory card slot and AWFUL Sony interfaces it's a really really great camera. I think the Mark 2 is great for everything but lowlight video and fast things like sports or wildlife. But portraits, weddings, landscapes, etc it's still a top tier camera. I also think we are more in the diminishing returns on newer models of cameras vs like Sony A7R vs A7R2 or D810 vs D850. Now it's just slight improvements to auto focus or longer batter life or better ergonomics (A7S3 is my favorite Sony camera design wise).

Have the mark 2. Will buy the mark 4 when the mark 5 comes out.

So go for mark 2 for photography, if the 10 frames per second isn’t a must have for you. For filming and shutter 10 frames per second and you have the money, go for mark 4.

Excellent review what sets it apart from so many other vanilla ones, is that I wasn't 'bored' and didn't feel compelled to forward to the end (for a summary) after watching for a few minutes. I don't need to know about specifications, but what I do need, is real time, real world examples of this camera being used and pushed, which you did a fantastic job of providing. I think the only thing that wasn't answered in your review is how did the cameras compare when shooting BLUE subjects or scenes?

I ve R2 and I am happy with it. Except autofocus and face detection in low light. Would it worth to upgrade to R4 ?

Were you shooting your video in crop mode 4K on the a7r2? Crop mode is better in low light with that camera. Strangely enough, full frame mode is better for the a7r2 at 1080p.
